Our peace is constantly being attacked. Research even shows that our addictions—and the ways we try to “numb” our emotions—are steadily increasing.

Have you noticed how much harder it’s becoming for people to control their thoughts, emotions, and reactions? Sadly, we’re turning into a society that’s more disconnected, divided, and dependent on outside things for comfort. We numb our emotional pain with distractions and forget how to stop, breathe, and quiet our minds and hearts.

Think about what you tend to reach for when you’re trying to “feel better”: food, your phone, TV, entertainment, shopping, social media, substances, or other habits that seem harmless at first. Over time, these things become our emotional crutches. They begin to control us. We lose our ability to genuinely regulate our inner peace. We forget to listen to ourselves—and most importantly—to ask God for help.

When we recognize the ways we rely on outside sources for peace, we can begin to examine those habits and gradually remove them from our lives. Often, we don’t even realize how much control those things have over our emotions. The more we reach outward for comfort, the more our inner light begins to dim. We become reactive, impatient, and uneasy—hurting not only ourselves but also those around us.

Remember: the enemy of your soul wants you to become dependent on outside things. He wants you to be enslaved by them. He’ll whisper that it’s too uncomfortable to sit with your feelings or look within—but that’s how he keeps you distracted and distant from God. If he can keep you from processing your emotions, from feeling peace, and from speaking to your Heavenly Father, then he wins—by making you as miserable as he is.

But God, our loving Father in Heaven, invites us to rise above that. He wants us to choose to turn to Him. He wants us to remember that we are His children—with divine access to His power, light, and peace. True and lasting peace doesn’t come from the world. It comes from God. He can give us peace in abundance, even in the middle of life’s storms. When we trust Him, we can remain calm, faithful, and steady—no matter what comes.

This week, I want to encourage you to take a deeper look within yourself. This might feel uncomfortable at first. You may be tempted to reach for your phone, turn on the TV, or distract yourself—but try instead to simply sit still for a moment and feel your feelings.

When something triggers you, take a breath. Close your eyes. Cover your ears if it helps, and notice what’s happening inside. See your thoughts and emotions clearly. Then, invite divine light into your heart and soul. Ask God to fill you with His love, His strength, and His peace. Let yourself feel that power flowing from Him into your heart, mind, and soul.

Nothing compares to that sacred feeling of peace that comes directly from God. ❤️

If you’d like, write down any impressions or wisdom that God places in your heart. The more open you are to receiving, the more He will give.

Take time to notice the things you use to “numb” emotional discomfort. Ask yourself:

• What steals my peace?

• What do I do when I’m angry, stressed, or anxious?

• Do those things bring me lasting peace—or do they leave me feeling empty?

These are important questions. Getting to know ourselves is part of our spiritual growth. We are meant to become our own best friend, cheerleader, and protector of peace. When we recognize what’s happening inside, we can consciously invite more goodness and easily reject negativity.

So, I invite you to practice breathing, feeling, and connecting with God whenever you notice inner chaos. Give yourself love and compassion. Be proud of your courage to look within—without needing anything external to help you do so. Reach toward the true Giver of Peace and allow Him to calm your heart and restore your soul.

Set a goal this week to be your inner peace keeper. In your quiet moments, connect with the divine source of peace and love—our Heavenly Father. Ask Him to help you focus on your inner light instead of the world’s distractions. As you practice, you’ll feel stronger, calmer, and more centered every day.

Remember the Savior’s words in John 14:27:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” ❤️

Whatever is troubling you today—fear, stress, or sadness—take a moment to sit with those feelings. Breathe. Recognize what you feel and where it shows up in your body. Then say,

“I invite the peace of God to come and be with me. To heal me, strengthen me, and remind me of my divine light. I am love. I am peace. I am a child of God.”

Feel His calmness cover you. God will replace your pain with His peace and fill your heart with light and love. There is no greater therapy than inviting His presence into your soul.

Trust Him—He is the King of Peace, the Giver of all that is good, and the Creator of love and light. He will strengthen, lift, and comfort you every day.

Our spiritual goal this week:

To gain greater inner peace—to be the keeper and protector of our peace. To rely on God, not the world, for comfort and strength. To say,

“I choose this hour to keep my peace centered on God, who sees me, hears me, loves me, and helps me. I am the protector of my inner peace, and I choose light, love, and peace to surround me today.” 💛

Our physical goal: Exercise 2–3 times this week and nourish your body with water and nutrient-rich foods. 🫶🏼

I hope to see you in class tonight at 7 p.m. Make this promise to yourself—to care for your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll feel the difference as we practice becoming the keepers of our peace during our peaceful meditation.

With love,

Lili 🌸

With everything happening in our world and the many challenges we each face, it’s easy to let the chaos increase and bring greater emotional stress, fear, and anxiety.
