Our peace is constantly being attacked. You can feel it all around us. We can either choose to focus on the bad that surrounds us or focus on the good.

This week I’ve felt a stronger desire to want to disconnected from the news, social media, entertainment and all of the constant voices on the world/internet. As time passes, we see more and more people addicted to these devices. You can see couples and families at restaurants just looking down at their phones. We’re filling our eyes, mind and heart with who knows what? & we’re more and more disconnected to the people that are actually in front of us. 🙁

Research lately has shown that addictions—and the ways we try to “numb” our emotions—are steadily increasing.

Have you noticed how much harder it seems for people to control their thoughts, emotions, and reactions? Sadly, we are becoming a society that is more disconnected, less present, more divided, and dependent on outside things for comfort. We numb emotional pain with distractions and forget how to slow down, breathe, and quiet our minds and hearts and juts be in the moment.

Think about what you tend to reach for when you’re trying to “feel better”: food, your phone, TV, entertainment, shopping, social media, substances, or other habits that may seem harmless at first. Over time, these things can become emotional crutches. They begin to control us. We lose our ability to truly regulate our inner peace. We forget to listen to ourselves—and most importantly, to turn to God for help.

When we recognize the ways we rely on outside sources for peace, we can begin to examine those habits and gradually release them. Often, we don’t even realize how much control they have over our emotions. The more we reach outward for comfort, the more our inner light begins to dim. We become reactive, impatient, and uneasy—hurting not only ourselves but also those around us.

Remember: the enemy of our souls wants all of us to be dependent on outside things. He wants to distract and spiritually distance ourselves from God. He whispers that it’s too uncomfortable to sit with our feelings or look within—but that discomfort is often where healing begins. If he can keep us from processing our emotions, feeling peace, and speaking with our Father in Heaven, he can keep us from finding the joy that God can bring.

But God, our loving Father in Heaven, invites us to rise above that. He asks us to turn to Him. He reminds us that we are His children—with divine access to His power, light, and peace. True and lasting peace does not come from the world or the things of the world. It comes from God. He can give us peace in abundance, even in the middle of life’s storms. When we trust Him, we can remain calm, faithful, and steady—no matter what comes.

This week, I encourage you to look a little deeper within yourself. It may feel uncomfortable at first. You may feel tempted to reach for your phone, turn on the TV, or distract yourself. Instead, try sitting still for a moment and simply feel your feelings. Check internally with yourself and see how you can better help yourself to live present and more peaceful today.

When something triggers you, pause. Take a slow breath. Close your eyes if it helps. Notice what is happening inside you. Observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment. Then invite divine light into your heart. Ask God to fill you with His love, strength, and peace. Imagine His power flowing gently into your heart and mind. 💛

There is nothing that compares to the sacred, divine peace that comes directly from God. Just focus on feeling and inviting God’s love, light and words.

If you’d like, write down any impressions or guidance He places in your heart. The more open you are to receiving, the more clearly you will recognize His voice.

Take time to notice the things you use to numb emotional discomfort. Ask yourself:

• What steals my peace?

• What do I reach for when I feel angry, stressed, or anxious?

• Do those things bring lasting peace—or do they leave me feeling empty?

These are sacred questions. Getting to know ourselves is part of spiritual growth. We are meant to become protectors of our peace. When we recognize what is happening inside us, we can consciously invite goodness in and more easily release negativity.

So I invite you to practice breathing, feeling, and connecting with God whenever you notice inner chaos. Give yourself grace and compassion. Be proud of your courage to look within—without needing something external to soothe you. Reach for the true Giver of Peace and allow Him to calm your heart and restore your soul.

Set a goal this week to become the keeper of your inner peace. In quiet moments, connect with the divine source of peace and love—our Heavenly Father. Ask Him to help you focus on your inner light instead of the world’s distractions. As you practice, you will feel stronger, calmer, and more centered each day.

Allow yourself to feel the strength of being the protector of your inner peace. 💪🏼💛 Be ready to TURN OFF the distractions that try to numb you and make you feel worse. Try to rise above and focus on Christs peace instead.

Remember the Savior’s words in John 14:27:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Whatever is troubling you today—fear, stress, or sadness—pause and sit with those feelings. Breathe. Notice where they show up in your body. Then gently say:

“I invite the peace of God to be with me—to heal me, strengthen me, and remind me of my divine light. I am a child of God. I choose peace.”

Feel His calmness surround you. God can replace anxiety with assurance and fill your heart with light and love. There is no greater healing than inviting His presence into your life.

Trust Him. He is the Prince of Peace, the Giver of all that is good, and the source of love and light. He will strengthen, lift, and comfort you each day.

Our spiritual goal this week:

To gain greater inner peace—to become protectors of our peace. To rely on God, not the world, for comfort and strength. To say:

“I choose to keep my peace centered on God, who sees me, hears me, loves me, and strengthens me. I choose light. I choose love. I choose peace.”

Our physical goal:

Exercise 2–3 times this week and nourish your body with water and wholesome, nutrient-rich foods.

I hope to see you in class tonight at 7 p.m. Make this promise to yourself—to care for your body, mind, and spirit. As we practice becoming keepers of our peace through meditation and connection with God, you will feel the difference.

With love,

Lili 🌸

With everything happening in our world and the many challenges we each face, it’s easy to let the chaos increase our emotional stress, fear, and anxiety.
