The Power Of Your Thoughts đź’›

Sometimes it feels like we can’t control our thoughts and emotions—but the truth is, the more we practice taking control of what we think and how we react, the better we become at navigating life and its ups and downs.

This week—and tonight in class—we’ll talk about how nothing from the outside can affect us internally unless we allow it. It all begins with the chain reaction of an event, followed by our response, which then leads to the outcome.

The equation is simple:

EVENT + RESPONSE (or Thought) = OUTCOME

We have the power to choose our response to everything we experience. What we allow into our minds is up to us. Our reaction determines the outcome, which is why it’s so important to ask ourselves:

• Do I want a positive outcome from this negative situation?

• How can this experience strengthen me instead of weaken me?

• What can I do to respond in a way that brings peace and growth into my life?

It’s amazing that we have the power to choose not to let outside circumstances control our inner peace. Yet, we often forget and hand over that control—giving our power away to people or situations. But our ability to choose our focus and take control of our thoughts is a gift and a responsibility. We must protect our power and use it to respond to life with strength and positivity.

We can train our thoughts to become stronger by using positive affirmations and practicing internal peace. It takes time and consistency, but the more we exercise this choice, the more in control—and happier—we will feel.

You have the power. The question is: how will you use it?

We can change our thoughts. With practice, we can shift from negativity to thoughts that uplift and strengthen us—especially when we need it most. And when we struggle, we can always turn to God. He can help calm our minds and fill them with peace and clarity.

He knows our hearts, our desires, and our goals. We just have to trust Him.

As He said:

“Yea, I tell thee, that thou mayest know that there is none else save God that knowest thy thoughts and the intents of thy heart.” (D&C 6:16)

God knows our struggles and how to help us overcome them. As we listen to Him and follow His guidance, we will become stronger and more focused on what is right for us. So remind yourself—even in this very moment:

“God loves ME. He wants to help me. I can feel His love all around me. I can go to Him, and He will be there for me.”

God is good, loving, and caring. He has a plan and a purpose for each of us. Earth is our school—our place to learn how to choose wisely and grow spiritually.

One of the most important lessons is learning how to manage our thoughts. Thoughts lead to emotions → feelings → actions → results. If we want to change our results, it begins with our thoughts.

Everything we experience in life can either help us grow or bring us down—it’s our choice. The more we recognize our power to choose, the more we’ll turn away from seeking validation from the world, and instead, turn to God for guidance. As we open our hearts to Him, He will fill us with peace, strength, and clarity.

We don’t have to do it alone. Our strength doesn’t always come from within—it also comes from divine help. As children of God, we have access to that help when we seek it and listen to His wisdom. God wants us to recognize our potential, our value, and our power. He wants us to be confident in our ability to choose good thoughts, good feelings, and good actions.

We can do this! Let’s trust in His love, believe in His plan, and in our ability—with His help—to live joyful, peaceful, and purposeful lives.

This week’s spiritual goal:

Be more aware of your thoughts and your internal power. Don’t allow outside circumstances to affect your inner peace. Remember who you are—a child of God—and who you’re becoming. Be strong. Choose the thoughts that will bring the best outcomes for your life.

This week’s physical goal:

Remove one unhealthy item from your diet—whether it’s soda, sugary drinks, fast food, chips, or sweets. Choose one or two things to eliminate so you can feel stronger, healthier, and more in control of your body.

I hope to see you tonight at 7 PM as we do something amazing for our body, mind, and spirit. We’ll release stress, build strength, and enjoy a beautiful meditation that reconnects us to our inner power.

Don’t forget: God sees the good you do. Your joy will be greater knowing He is pleased with your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions. These small steps bring peace, happiness, and light into your life.

You are not alone. God is with you. He will strengthen you.

Just do your best today. Take it one day at a time. He will guide you, comfort you, and fill you with His divine love. ❤️

With love,

Lili
