The Battle Is In The Mind šŸ’›

In a world filled with noise, distractions, and shifting values, it’s easy to forget about the importance that our mind plays in our daily life.

Take a moment and to check your thoughts. Are they positive? Negative? Helping or hurting you? When we can acknowledge that a lot of what we experience has to do with our thoughts, we can choose to be a little more vigilant and careful about what we allow to come into our minds.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how to prepare my mind for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. That thought might seem like an overwhelming task for any of us. But the scriptures and the words of prophets assure us that this preparation doesn’t begin with dramatic gestures or grand events—it begins in the quiet places of our hearts and minds.

The Mind is a Sacred Battlefield.

The battle between good and evil isn’t just playing out in world events or cultural movements. It’s unfolding within each of us, every day. The adversary knows that if he can gain influence over our thoughts, he can distort our feelings, weaken our faith, and distract us from our divine potential. Elder Neal A. Maxwell once said, ā€œThe greatest battles of life are fought out daily in the silent chambers of the soul.ā€

Satan seeks to sow doubt, fear, pride, and confusion. He whispers lies that we are not enough, that repentance won’t work, or that we can’t change. But the Savior speaks peace. He offers clarity, truth, and hope. Through the Spirit, He whispers, ā€œBe still, and know that I am Godā€ (Psalm 46:10).

Prepare Mentally & Spiritually:

Peter exhorted the Saints to ā€œgird up the loins of your mindā€ (1 Peter 1:13). In other words, we are to prepare mentally and spiritually for the challenges and blessings ahead. Just as we prepare physically for a journey, our minds must be disciplined, protected, and filled with light if we are to stand ready when He comes again.

Here are a few ways we can prepare our minds for Christ’s return:

1. Fill Your Mind with Truth

The Holy Ghost teaches us truth. As we study the scriptures and the words of living prophets, our minds are enlightened. We come to recognize falsehood more easily, and our desire to follow Jesus Christ grows stronger.

ā€œFeast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should doā€ (2 Nephi 32:3).

2. Practice Daily Mental Discipleship

Our thoughts shape our destiny. When we choose to think kindly, to turn away from temptation, and to focus on gratitude, we invite the Spirit. Mental discipleship means being intentional about what we allow into our minds through media, conversation, and personal reflection. Music is also a huge way to influence the mind. Listen to music that draws you to Christ. To loving and being kind. All of the things that we watch and listen to DO influence our thoughts and actions.

3. Embrace the Power of Repentance

When our thoughts wander or when we fall short, repentance realigns us with heaven. It clears the mental fog and replaces shame with peace. President Russell M. Nelson has called repentance a ā€œjoyfulā€ gift—one that helps us stay mentally and spiritually prepared for the Lord’s return.

4. Visualize His Coming

Ponder what it will be like to see the Savior again. Let that sacred hope influence your daily thoughts. The more we long for His return, the more we will align our minds with His ways. The Second Coming is not something to fear—it’s a reason to rejoice and prepare.

Victory Begins—and Ends—with Christ

While the battle between good and evil begins in the mind, the victory belongs to Christ. As we yield our thoughts to Him, He transforms not only our minds but our entire lives. He doesn’t just want us to believe in Him—He wants us to become like Him. That’s what we strive for, to be better, to be kinder, loving, forgiving and more like the example of the Christ that we know. ā¤ļø

In the end, it is not fear or force that wins the war in our minds—it is love. Love for the Savior, love for truth, love for our eternal potential as sons and daughters of God and love for ourselves and others.

So, let’s make it our goal to protect our minds daily and to invite all that is good to reside within us. God wants to help us in this process of strengthening our mind. We can pray and ask for inspiration on ways to help our mind. We can meditate and set time aside to calm our minds and to find peace in Christ from one moment to the next.

As we prepare for His return, let’s make it our goal to start with our thoughts. Let us guard them, refine them, and lift them to higher, holier places. Because when Christ comes again, He won’t just look at the world—He will look into our hearts and minds, and as we strive to do this, He will find that we a place prepared for Him. šŸ’›

I hope that you may feel a stronger desire to protect your mind from the enemy and fill it instead with the light of God. This is our goal for this week. Notice how much better your mind feels as you strive to do this.

I hope that you can make it to class tonight to release stress and strengthen yourself physically mentally and spiritually. Our meditation will be focused on strengthening our mind so please invite whoever you think would benefit from tonightā€˜s class. Love you all and hope to see you there! šŸ™‚

Finding Stillness šŸ’–

We live in a world buzzing with constant noise—notifications, scrolling feeds, 24/7 news, and never-ending entertainment. It’s easier than ever to fill every quiet moment with something that feels productive, entertaining, or comforting. But in the midst of that noise, we risk losing something far more valuable: our connection to heaven.

Distraction is the Enemy of Revelation. When we allow the outside world to constantly come in and disrupt our peace, we make it harder for us to receive the inspiration and the revelation that we need.

Elder Richard G. Scott once said, ā€œThe inspiring influence of the Holy Spirit can be overcome or diluted by strong emotions, such as anger, hate, passion, fear, or pride. Similarly, spiritual promptings can be missed if we’re too busy, overwhelmed, or distracted.ā€

The truth is, many of us are missing personal revelation—not because God has stopped speaking, but because we’re too distracted and we’ve stopped listening. šŸ™ The Lord speaks in a still, small voice. But how can we hear that voice when our minds are constantly pulled in a hundred different directions?

As I’ve thought about distractions this week. I’ve realized that my phone is my biggest source of distraction. It steals time away from the people that are around me. It steals time away from my goals, from being able to serve, listen and help someone. I’ve also noticed that phones have become our ā€œescapeā€ when we don’t want to feel an emotion. So, I’m asking myself today. ā€œHow do I want my relationship to be with my phone? Do I want IT to be the master of me? Or do I want to make sure that I CONTROL, MASTER AND SET LIMITS with this device? šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

Phones aren’t evil—But They Can Be Addictive. Our phones are incredible tools. They connect us, teach us, and help us serve. But like any tool, they can be misused. When we spend hours on social media comparing our lives to others, when we check notifications during scripture study or prayer, when we default to entertainment instead of introspection—something sacred is being traded for something superficial.

President Russell M. Nelson warned us: ā€œThe adversary is clever. For millennia he has been making good look evil and evil look good. His messages tend to be loud, bold, and boastful. However, messages from our Heavenly Father are strikingly different. He communicates simply, quietly, and with such stunning plainness that we cannot misunderstand Him.ā€

We cannot afford to be spiritually numb. Our time on earth is too short and our potential too grand to waste on constant digital noise.

How to Fight Distraction and Reclaim Clarity?

So how do we break free? How do we hear the voice of the Lord more clearly and align ourselves with our divine potential?

Here are a few small but powerful steps:

1. Begin with Intentional Stillness

Create space in your day for silence. Mornings or evenings are perfect times to set aside even five minutes to pray, listen, and be still. This stillness invites the Spirit and prepares your heart to receive divine impressions.

2. Practice ā€œSacred Breathingā€

Try a simple breathing exercise before prayer or scripture study: inhale deeply for four counts, hold for four, and exhale for four. Repeat a few times while focusing on a phrase like ā€œBe still and know that I am God.ā€ This grounds your spirit and quiets your thoughts so the Lord’s voice can come through.

3. Fast from Distraction

Just as we fast from food to refocus spiritually, we can fast from digital distractions. Try taking a break from social media, YouTube, or streaming apps once a week. Use that time to study the scriptures, write in your journal, or simply be with your thoughts and with God.

3. Guard Your Sacred Time

Prioritize scripture study, prayer, temple worship, and Sabbath observance with your whole heart. Put the phone in another room. Let God know He has your full attention. He always notices.

4. Strengthen Your Willpower Through Covenants

Covenants or promises to God are powerful spiritual anchors. When we remember who we are and the promises we’ve made, we find the strength to act instead of being acted upon. Our willpower grows stronger when we act deliberately to keep our covenants—especially in a distracted world.

5. Ask God to Help You See Clearly

If you’re overwhelmed, confused, or discouraged, ask for help. Pray for clarity. The Lord will help you discern between what is good, what is better, and what is best. His wisdom cuts through confusion.

You Are Meant for More

God has great things in store for you. He placed you here for a reason and wants to guide you. Make time to receive those promptings, and the revelation that you need for your life. He will help you in your relationships, with the way you spend your time and He will bring miracles into your life. It juts requires your attention, stillness, intention, and time with the Lord.

Let’s remind ourselves that we were never meant to live distracted. We were meant to live directed—by our Father in Heaven, Our loving Savior Jesus Christ and by the Holy Ghost.

So, today, choose to unplug a little more so you can connect a lot more—be ready to listen to the little impressions that come to your heart. To that still small voice and then you will know what to do next. Allow yourself the opportunity to connect with God, with yourself, and with what truly matters. You’ll be amazed at what opens up when you make space to hear His voice.

Hope that you can make it to class tonight to release stress, disconnect from the distractions and connect to your body, mind and spirit.

Nourishing The Whole Self šŸ’–

In a world filled with constant demands, fast-paced schedules, and unrelenting challenges, it’s easy to feel stretched thin, pulled in every direction and left wondering how to find balance. Yet, many of us have been blessed to have learned about divine truths that teach us the importance of nurturing not just one aspect of ourselves, but the whole self: body, mind, and spirit.

This holistic approach to self-care is not just a fleeting trend or some nice words to say. It’s actually been taught by God our Father in Heaven and by our Savior Jesus Christ. When we learn to care for all three elements of our being, we unlock greater peace, strength, and purpose.

The Body: A Sacred Temple

Our bodies are gifts from a loving Heavenly Father. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Paul reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost and that we are ā€œbought with a price.ā€ Recognizing the sacred nature of our physical bodies inspires us to treat them with reverence and care.

This means nourishing our bodies with wholesome food, getting sufficient rest, and finding joy in movement. It also means avoiding substances or practices that harm our physical well-being. As we strive to avoid addictive substances or practices, and as we strive to care for our body, we are better able to align ourselves with God’s design, and we invite greater health and vitality into our lives.

But caring for our bodies goes beyond physical health. It’s about cultivating gratitude for the miracle of life itself. When we honor our bodies, we acknowledge their divine purpose as vessels to carry out God’s work on earth. We can express gratitude for everything that our bodies are able to do for us daily. And we can allow ourselves to walk day to day filled with love and gratitude for the body we are given and the blessing of being able to care for it and love it.

The Mind: A Gateway to Truth

Our minds are incredible gifts. Capable of creativity, reasoning, reflection and growth. In Doctrine and Covenants 93:36 says; ā€œThe glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.ā€ Caring for our minds means dedicating ourselves to lifelong learning, filling our thoughts with all that is positive, uplifting and good. And seeking knowledge in both spiritual and temporal matters.

In a world overflowing with information, it’s important for us to be discerning. Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf has taught, ā€œSeek out the majesty, the beauty, and the exhilarating joy of the truths of the gospel. They will lift your spirits and cause your burdens to fade into the backgroundā€. We also read in D&C 88:118 Seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith.

Developing our minds also includes protecting our mental health. Turning to the Savior in times of stress or discouragement, seeking professional help when needed, and surrounding ourselves with supportive people are all ways to strengthen this powerful and amazing gift of our mind, that God has given us.

The Spirit: Anchored in Christ

At the core of everything is the spirit. The eternal part of us that connects with God. Nurturing our spirits involves daily habits of prayer, scripture study, seeking quiet moments and worship. It’s through these practices that we hear God’s voice and feel His guidance in our lives.

The Savior Himself set the perfect example of spiritual self-care. He often withdrew from the crowds to pray and commune with His Father (Luke 5:16). Likewise, we must prioritize time to be still, reflect, and reconnect with the divine.

President Russell M. Nelson said: ā€œThrough daily prayer and feasting upon the words of Christ in the scriptures and the words of living prophets, we can receive the Savior’s guidance and protectionā€. When we invest in our spiritual well-being, we are strengthened to face life’s challenges with faith and hope.

Striving for Balance

Caring for the body, mind, and spirit is not about perfection but about progress. Some seasons may demand more focus on one area than another, and that’s okay. The key is to strive for balance and listen to the quiet promptings of the Spirit, which often guide us toward what we need most.

When we take the time to nurture ourselves holistically, we become better instruments in the hands of God. We are more prepared to serve, love, and fulfill our divine potential.

Heavenly Father gives us a divine invitation to care for our whole beings. Our own individual body, mind, and spirit working together in harmony. By caring for each part of ourselves, we honor His plan and draw closer to Him. As we seek to nurture our whole selves, let us remember the Savior’s loving invitation:

ā€œCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you restā€ (Matthew 11:28).

Through Him, we can find true rest, healing, and joy as we strive to care for the beautiful, divine creations that we are. Let us embrace this journey with faith, knowing that we are never alone. & that God has a beautiful plan and purpose for our lives. He loves us and wants us to love, care and protect our whole self. Recognizing that each day comes with a blessing a gift and an opportunity to care for this body, mind and spirit.

I pray that this message will allow you to feel a little more connected to the divine love of our creator and loving Father in Heaven. That you may have a stronger desire to care for your whole self and that you may be a light to others on their journey of loving and caring for themselves as well.

Tonight in class, we will have an opportunity to strengthen our bodies, release stress, quiet our minds and give our spirit a little time to recharge. I hope that you can join us and that you can leave feeling amazing physically, mentally and Spiritually. Love you all & can’t wait to see you there! šŸ’–

Seek Divine Wisdom šŸ¤

We live in a world overflowing with opinions, advice, influence and endless information that it becomes easy to get lost in the noise. Social media influencers, self-help books, and even well-meaning friends often offer their perspectives on how we should live, what success looks like, or how to find happiness. But amid this flood of worldly wisdom, we must ask ourselves: Are we seeking truth from the right source?

This week as I was praying and studying my scriptures, I opened to Proverbs chapter 2 where it says, ā€œThe Lord giveth wisdom, knowledge, and understanding–Walk-in the way of good men.ā€

It also said ā€œMy child if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; šŸ’›

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

If thou seekest wisdom as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.

And then in chapter 3 He tells us

ā€œTrust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.ā€ ā¤ļø

Reading those words this week felt like they went straight to my heart and soul. I felt like I want to strive more from now on to seek more true wisdom for my soul. I felt that I need to stop listening to all the stuff on social media, the internet, people’s opinions etc. AND JUST GO DIRECTLY TO THE SOURCE OF ALL WISDOM. šŸ¤

So, that’s precisely what I did. I offered a prayer asking God to help me find wisdom and to help me hear exactly what He wanted me to hear or what He had for me this week.

I felt myself fully believing the words I had just read. I knew that as His child, He would provide the wisdom that I need using this time and after waiting a little while after I prayed, I had an incredible experience! I heard Him speaking directly to me! I felt it in my heart and mind and I heard Him say ā€œHi my daughter! 🄲 & I instantly started to cry at the thought of knowing that I had just heard His voice say that to me and fill me with His love and Joy of hearing from me at the same time. 😭 I felt that He does know me!?! There’s no way I can deny what my soul heard and felt. The inspiration and wisdom that came to me after that prayer was AMAZING! So much inspiration and wisdom poured into my heart, mind and souls that I wanted to remember it all. This experience is something that I’ll never forget. 🄹

Some of the inspiration and WISDOM that I received was exactly what I needed to hear. It’s very personal and it made my heart and soul feel so much of God’s love and His light that it’s hard to describe.

But I do want to share one of the most important pieces of wisdom that I got from Him, in the hopes that it’s a blessing to you too. That piece of wisdom is, that He told me to be more aware of the distractions that surround me. More specifically, MY PHONE. 😬

I felt that this device tricks us into making us feel that we’re so productive, so ā€œwiseā€ etc…when in reality it’s STEALING OUR DAYS in distraction, we’re by all that we see and watch and sometimes it’s not very good. This little time consuming computer that we carry with us all the time is keeping us less present on what is really happening in front of us with our families, friends etc.

I know that God gave my this wisdom because even though there’s also a lot of good that my phone can provide it’s also stealing from the people and my present surroundings that need my attention. I even felt that God wants me to read my scriptures directly from a book again and not from a creen. 😳 So, I’m now trying to read my paper scriptures again. šŸ™‚ I know that there’s wisdom in that! The notifications and distractions on our phone are keeping us away from strengthening our relationship with god as well as stealing the present moments from us. & we need to do something about it. šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

If I am going to use my phone I want to make sure that it’s with a good purpose for my mind and heart.

Moroni 7 says: But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.

My reason for sharing this with you, is that this wasn’t the only wisdom that I received from Him. God instructed me this week in amazing ways with what my soul needed to hear.

I offered one prayer. I set aside some time amidst all of the other things in my to do list, to just sit outside, read wisdom from the word of God and ASK THE SOURCE DIRECTLY. šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

I promise you that just as He showed me, He will show you the wisdom that your soul needs. Just go to Him and see for yourself what an amazing and loving God is willing to show you and bring to mind and heart. We just have to be willing to believe Him and to just listen and be in the moment with Him. šŸ™šŸ¼

I hope that this message allows you to feel that there’s a loving God who is longing to hear from you. He wants to say hi to you! He wants to hear how you’re feeling and He is ready to give you wisdom if you seek Him and ask Him. 🄲

I pray that you’ll gain a stronger desire to set aside the distractions of the world and to be more present and in the moment. Leave your phone somewhere else and turn off the tv and the devices and just be in the moment a little more. It’s in those quiet moments when we can feel God the most. That is one of the best amongst other treasures of wisdom that I’ve gained this week and I hope that you can feel a stronger desire for yourself to go directly to the source as well. ā¤ļø

True wisdom doesn’t come from the world. It comes from God. In every season of our lives, whether we’re making big decisions or navigating everyday choices, we need His guidance.

Let us not waste time chasing answers in all the wrong places. Let us go to our Heavenly Father in prayer, seek the influence of the Holy Ghost, and receive the personal revelation we need to walk the path He has prepared for us.

As we do so, we will find not only direction but peace, power, and purpose.

ā€œIf any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God … and it shall be given himā€ (James 1:5). ā¤ļø

That promise remains true—for you, for me, for all of us who are willing to seek the Source.

Hope that you can make it to class tonight at 7pm to strengthen yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. šŸ„°šŸ’–šŸ™šŸ¼

Love,

Lili 🌸
