Be Present Today šŸ’–

Today, I invite you to turn off your racing mind and heart. ā¤ļø Stop for a moment and take some deep breaths. Remember that God has told us to take it ONE DAY AT A TIME. ā˜€ļø

It’s not good for our mind and heart to be thinking or focused on the past or on the future that we can’t control. šŸ™ˆ So, as you have a moment to breathe, gently guide your thoughts back to the present moment, notice your breath and calm your heart and mind. Just be right here right now for a moment. Simply being present throughout your day allows you to experience more peace, clarity, and joy. We just have to practice being present. šŸ’ŖšŸ¼šŸ„°

Matthew 6:34 we read:

ā€œTake therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.ā€

Through these words, Jesus invites us to be present.

I believe that He wants us to be intentional about today. To CHOOSE TO SEE GOD IN THIS MOMENT AND TO INVITE HIM TO BE RIGHT HERE AND NOW.

So, open your heart for a moment to welcome God’s light into your life. Choose, with intention, not to dwell on the past or worry about the future, but instead to focus on feeling God’s love as it fills you. His light and love help you cultivate positivity and experience the deep peace and joy that can only come from His presence.

As you move through your day, notice what is around you. Express gratitude for each moment you experience. Give thanks for your blessings, no matter how small. Be open, kind, and loving toward yourself and others. Choose to see the good in those around you and intentionally invite goodness into your mind and heart from one moment to the next. What you choose to focus on, aligns you more closely with God—allowing you to flow in His light and fully enjoy the gift of today.

When you are present, a natural stillness and centeredness arises within you. You feel calmer and more grounded, better able to experience the now and to choose the energy you want to bring into this moment. Dwelling on the past or future only drains the energy available to you right now.

During times when my mind and heart start racing I try to practice by stopping what I’m doing. I close my eyes, gently cover my ears, and focus on my breath. (I call this my internal ocean or my alignment with God.) He is the one who calms my internal ocean, providing each breath as it flows in and out. I love to imagine the calming sound of the ocean as the breath comes in and out of my body. With every inhale, I choose to breathe in peace; with every exhale, release fear, stress, anxiety etc As you try this exercise and listen to and feel your breath, you are reminded to be grateful for the moment you have now. & you will feel the peace of God calming your heart and mind. šŸ•Šļø

God invites us to come to Him and to take life one day at a time—one moment at a time. We can give Him all of our worries and fears. He is not a God of fear, but a God of faith, trust, love, power, and a sound, peaceful mind and heart. He will help carry our burdens and make them lighter. Each moment is an opportunity to strengthen our connection with ourselves and with our Creator. The choice is always ours—We can choose to make each moment a moment of peace, a moment when we can pour love into ourselves and others and a moment when we can choose more loving a positive thoughts with God by our side. ā¤ļø

Another way to include the mind in the process of being present is to practice this mindfulness exercise. As we’ve discussed in class, to involve our senses. We call this the 5-4-3-2-1 practice:

• 5 things you can see

• 4 things you can hear

• 3 things you can touch

• 2 things you can smell

• 1 thing you can taste

The more detail, the better. Engaging your senses brings your awareness into the present moment and allows you to rediscover the beauty around you—almost like seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

During moments of stress, remember the power you have to calm your mind and body. Deep breathing—allowing the breath to fill your belly—is one of the most effective ways to do this. By focusing solely on the in-breath and out-breath, you reconnect with the present moment instead of past or future scenarios. There is real power in breathing.

With everything happening around us—both externally and internally—it is more important than ever to develop tools that help us manage our thoughts, emotions, and feelings. These practices help deepen our alignment with ourselves and with God. They help us to rejoice in the gifts God gives us today.

Today we can focus on listening to our inner voice, guiding us toward gratitude and awareness. Use your breath and your senses to anchor you in each moment, letting go of intrusive thoughts and instead, find strength in the light, love, and peace that God provides—peace that surpasses all earthly understanding and brings lasting joy and comfort.

As Buddha said:

ā€œThe secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.ā€

And Leo Tolstoy reminds us:

ā€œThere is only one time that is important—NOW. It is the most important time because it is the only time we have any power.ā€

So today, focus your energy on the moments you can influence. Be present. Be kind. Be loving toward yourself and others—one moment at a time. Seek the wisdom God has for you today, and live knowing that He loves you and desires to help you be more present in your conversations, actions, and thoughts. The more you practice returning to the present through your breath, the more you’ll enjoy today and feel empowered over distractions and judgments. The power is here—now.

Don’t forget that the practice of being present is more spiritual than anything. If we can choose to BELIEVE IN GOD. We know that HE’S GOT THE PAST. THAT HE’ll BE THERE IN THE FUTURE AND THAT HE’S HERE RIGHT NOW WITH US. Strengthen your Faith in Him and feel the difference. ā¤ļøšŸ•ŠļøšŸ™šŸ¼
