Press Forward 💛

There are seasons in life when we wish God would show us the whole picture.

We want to know what is going to happen next.

We want to know that we’re making the right choices.

We want to know that everything is going to be okay.

This week I was reading I read 2 Nephi 31–33 & the thought came to me;

Maybe we don’t need to see the whole path.

Maybe we just need to keep walking with Christ.

There is something so comforting about that. We don’t have to have everything figured out before we move forward.

We don’t have to know exactly how everything will work out. We just need enough faith and move forward to take the next step.

“Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ.” —2 Nephi 31:20

I love those words: Press forward.

Sometimes we have to take a little action and press forward against the negative thoughts, our doubts, our fears etc.

Sometimes moving forward doesn’t look like a huge spiritual breakthrough.

Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed and choosing hope.

Sometimes it looks like praying again when we’ve prayed about the same thing many times.

Sometimes it looks like forgiving someone.

Sometimes it looks like giving ourselves and others grace, love and compassion.

Sometimes it simply looks like saying, “Heavenly Father, I don’t know what I’m doing right now, but I’m going to keep walking with YOU and listening for your guidance”

I think that is what faith often looks like in real life.

We don’t have to know everything. We Just Have to Listen for the Next Step 💛

One of my favorite verses in these chapters says:

“Feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.”

—2 Nephi 32:3

It amazes me how much I gain from the word of God daily if I’m open to reading it and really trying to “feast on it.” When my heart is open to hearing from God, I’m able to see and recognize things that weren’t visible before.

We’re not always going to receive an entire plan or answers to all of our prayers. But I promise you, that if you make it a priority to try to listen to God through the scriptures you will gain divine knowledge that will bless you today and that you’ll treasure forever. 💛

I love that it says that the words of Christ will tell you ALL THINGS that you should do. Believing in that allows us to be open to hearing what God wants us to do about each situation. Maybe all we need is peace, maybe He inspires us with new thoughts and maybe Sometimes the “things we should do” are simply the things we need right now.

The next step of faith.

The next decision.

The next conversation.

The next little act of kindness.

God may not be showing us the entire road because He is teaching us to walk with Him instead of walking ahead of Him.❤️

How beautiful that we may recognize that we may need to stay right here in this moment with God. Not get ahead of ourselves, but just trying to listen for what He wants us to know in this very moment and what that next step is through the feelings and thoughts that He communicates into our heart. 💛

And maybe that’s why slowing down is so important.

We can’t always recognize a quiet prompting when our minds are filled with noise.

We can’t always feel peace when we’re constantly rushing toward the next thing. 🌀

Sometimes we need to become still enough to remember:

I am not alone. ♥️

Here’s a little practice for this week;

The next time you feel overwhelmed or unsure about what comes next, stop for just one minute.

Put everything down.

Take a slow breath.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Notice what is around you.

And quietly say:

“Heavenly Father, I don’t need to know everything. Just help me know my next step. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.”

Then breathe.

You don’t have to force an answer.

You don’t have to make something happen.

Just be still for a moment.

Sometimes the answer may come as a thought.

Sometimes as a feeling of peace.

Sometimes as a scripture that suddenly comes to mind.

And sometimes, the answer may simply be the strength to take one more step.

I think we sometimes put so much pressure on ourselves to be farther along.

We compare ourselves to other. We compare our spiritual lives :(…We wonder why we aren’t stronger, more peaceful, more patient, more consistent.

But maybe the question isn’t:

“How far have I come?”

Maybe it’s:

“Am I still walking toward Christ?”

If the answer is yes, then keep going! 💪🏼🥰

Even if your steps are small.

Even if you have to begin again.

Even if you don’t understand what God is doing.

Keep walking.

Because the beautiful thing about walking with Christ is that we don’t have to know where every step will lead.

We only have to trust the One who is walking beside us. 🥹♥️

& maybe for today, that is enough. That’s all we need.

One step.

One prayer.

One breath.

One day at a time.

Keep moving forward.

Christ is already there.

He knows the end from the beginning.

We can trust Him and move forward in faith one day at a time, knowing that He is by our side and He will guide us. ♥️

My invitation for us this week is; ☀️

Spiritual: Each day, spend 5 quiet minutes with Christ. Read a few verses, breathe, and ask:

“What is my next step?” “What wisdom do you have for me today Lord?”

Don’t worry about receiving the whole answer. Just listen for what you need today.

Physical: Take a 10–20 minute walk at least three times this week. As you walk, leave your phone behind if you can, notice your surroundings, breathe deeply, and remind yourself:

“I don’t have to rush. I can take one step at a time.”

Because sometimes the spiritual lesson and the physical lesson are exactly the same:

We don’t have to run.

We just have to keep moving forward. 💛

Love you all and I hope that you can feel the Savior’s love for you today. Wether that is in this message, in a moment of prayer, in reading his words or in taking a deep breath. 🤍 Feel His love and Press Forward.

Hope that you can make it to class tonight at 7pm to release stress, strengthen ourselves physically, mentally and end with a beautiful meditation to leave us feeling peaceful and calm. ☺️ Hope that you can make it and invite others to benefit as well.

Love,

Lili 🌺
